Beichen Hi-Tech Industrial Park was founded in 1993. It is a State-level high-tech industrial park approved by the State Council and is a major part of the high-tech industrial belt along the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu expressway.

·Geographical Location:

The Park is situated on both sides of the 2nd exit of the Tianjin section of the expressway. The North and South parts cover an area of 13.5 sq.km and the total planned are is 17 sq.km.

·Infrastructure:

Infrastructure construction has been completed in the park. Electricity and water supply, drainage, fuel gas, roads, program-controlled telephone systems, business and living establishments are all ready for use.

·Industries:

The Beichen district is traditionally an industrial base in Tianjin and is the key development area for the mechanical and metallurgical industries. It is surrounded by a large number of industrial enterprises, thus providing a strong industrial supportive force. Contributing to its excellent exterior conditions, over 100 enterprises from 15 countries have invested in the Park. The total contractual investment is US$370 million. The development objective of the park is to build itself into an export-oriented economic area based on modern industry. High-tech enterprises will play a leading role, with focus on mechanical and electronics and bio-engineering. Secondary and tertiary industries will be developed in a coordinated manner.
