Traditional Cultural Street
The splendid 580-metre-long Traditional Cultural
Street was built in 1985. The famous Tianhou (Heavenly
Empress) Temple stands in the center, dividing
the street into two sections--Gongnan and Gongbei.

More than 100 store names are written on tablets above
the doors in different styles, a veritable exhibition
of calligraphy. The walls are decorated with colored
murals of Chinese legends. A variety of traditional
local products are on sale here: clay figurines by Master
Zhang, kites by Master Wei, New Year's paintings and
paper cuts from Yangliuqing, as well as Chinese brushes,
ink, ink-holders, calligraphy paper, jewelry, jade ware,
wooden sculptures, curios and ancient editions of books
from across the country.
