Project
Profile:
Drainage system falls
into six subsystems according to the General Planning of
Tianjin City. Lying in Beichen District, Beicang drainage
network is one of the subsystems. In order to adapt to the
industrial development in Beichang area and control the
pollution effectively, Tianjin decides to carry out the
project of Beichang sewage treatment by making use of the
loan from Asian Development Bank. The project is based on
"the Control Planning on Water Pollution of Haihe River
Basin" and has been approved by State Development Planning
Committee. The total investment is 371 million Yuan with
the construction period of five years.
Construction Scale and Content:
Level-two sewage treatment plant will be built with daily
treatment capacity of 10,000 cubic meters; 15.97 km auxiliary
pipeline will be laid in the new sewage treatment plant.
Four pump sewage stations will also be built.
Social
and Economic Benefit:
The project will control
the sewage within the system and better the environment
in the area. The water pollution will be controlled. Water
quality for irrigation and in river course will be improved
as well as the water quality in Bohai. This project serves
as an environmental protection project to better environment
protection, ensure people's health and benefit the society.
It plays an important role in solving the water shortage,
enhancing the economic development, improving the investment
environment, attracting foreign investment, improving the
living standard of people and making Tianjin a beautiful
city.
