¡¡ Project Profile:
¡¡ Ji Canal sites to the north of Haihe basin. It is one
of the important rivers with flood draining as its main
function and flood control as its second function. It's
upper reach serves as the administrative border between
Hebei Province and Tianjin. Structures and bank slops along
the waterway stays in bad condition. Flood running capability
goes down in wide margin due to sedimentation. To guarantee
the safety of people's life and properties on two side of
the river and promote economic development in this area,
river works has to be revamped. After the revamping the
flood running will be easier, which is very imperative
¡¡ Construction
Scale and Content:
¡T heighten and consolidate bank slop of 157m long. Build
two highway gates. Remove, reconstruct and consolidate 154
gates. Remove, reconstructed and consolidate 33 pumping
stations. Preventive works at 48 villages. 25 lengths of
new supporting dikes. Three lengths of consolidation
¡¡ Social and Economic Benefit:
¡¡Upgrade flood control standard to 10 years. Flooding draining
standard reaches 3-5 years. Farmland along the river will
fare well in flood season. Flood hit area of farmland will
be reduced by 103 thousand mu.
