¡¡ Project Profile:
¡¡ Based on "Water pollution prevention planning for
Haihe River basin", Tianjin Municipal Government decides
on a project of water source protection for the diversion
works, which runs from Luanhe River to Tianjin, with the
loan from Asia Development Bank for preventing water source
from being polluted. The project has beforehand been approved
by State Development Planning Commission. The total investment
is 2399.4 million Yuan. Construction schedule is fixed at
five years. This project is one of the key projects executed
during the Tenth Five-year plan and is planned to start
in the late half of this year. To now, both Asia Development
Bank and State Development Bank of China have approved the
loan for the project.
¡¡ Construction
Scale and Content:
¡T To build up an underground channel in the reach of Zhouhe
River, which is particularly used for Yinluan diversion
works. Designed flow is of 50 cubic meters per second. The
total length is 35.17 km. The channel is lined with reinforced
concrete, whose section falls into three rectangles with
an area of 4.3m by 4.3m for each. There are sixteen main
auxiliary structures, including sluice gate, distributing
gate, check and repairing gate, tailrace gate and siphon.
The channel crosses railway in three sites. Open channel
reconstruction and reinforcement, including 61.89 km long
of bottom lining and 27.63 km long of slop lining. Thirteen
intercrossing structures shall be consolidated against seepage.
Along two sides of the open channel forest belts will be
planted; separation hedge and wall swill be built; and patrol
roads will be paved with a length of 43.82 km and a width
of 3.5 m. Improving treatment for Yuqiao reservoir. Forest
belt of 61.89 km long, blocking mesh of 84 km long and 3.5
m high alone the pond will be finished. A sewage and rubbish
collection systems will be built in 57 villages which site
under the elevation of 26.5m. Toilets around the reservoir
will be reconstructed. A compost fertilizer plant and a
deposit manure will be built, by which 55 thousand tons
of rubbish and dung can be treated. 23954 mu of fishpond
will be closed which site under the elevation of 22m.
¡¡ Social and Economic Benefit:
¡¡Social and economic benefit: The newly-built underground
construction and open channel reconstruction are dedicated
to avoid sudden occurrence of water pollution, to insure
safe diversion of Luanhe River and to restore outleting
flood to Zhouhe river and Juhe River. There are other functions,
such as extra water drainage, sewage drainage, and storing
water for irrigation. After completion of the project, water
regulation in preflood, flood and ponding season will become
easier. Water loss during diversion and pollution from the
outside water will also be ameliorated. The works around
Yuqian reservoir serves to reduce pollution of phosphanium
and increase plant coverage on bare mountains by 20%. There
needs also fewer dosage of detoxigent put into source water
by water plant and as such cost of water supply will be
cut down. The above mentioned underground channel will restore
the irrigation for farmland of 50 thousand mu and the drainage
of extra water for farmland of 600 thousand mu.
