¡¡ Project Profile:
¡¡ New Yongding river begins in Qujiadian of Beichen District
in Tianjin and enters the sea at Beitang county of Tanggu
District. It is the lower reaches of Yongding River. The
flood of Beisan River pass through and enter the sea. The
right dam of New Yongding river is also the north defense
for flood control in Tianjin. Because of the deposit in
the river course, the capacity of the flood-pass decrease
80%. To ensure the safety of flood control in the city,
it is essential and pressing to govern New Yongding River.
¡¡ Construction
Scale and Content:
¡T The construction of New Yongding River is based on the
flood-discharge standard of once fifty year and once one-hundred
year. According to the recommended plan, the silt of the
New Yongding River will be cleared on the basis of the flow
capacity of 1400-4640 cubic meters per second. On the river
outlet will built a tide-proof sluice gate on the basis
of flow of 4640 cubic meters per second. Also the dams will
be strengthened and the traffic bridge will come into being.
The period of the construction is five years. The earthwork
of the project is 82,000,000 cubic meters and the concrete
capacity is 75,200 cubic meters.
¡¡ Social and Economic Benefit:
¡¡The harness of the New Yongding River will keep the drainage
course of Beijing going and has no influence of the flood
drainage. The sluice gate can block the flood from the river
branches. By means of the north-water-south project, the
agricultural water shortage of south Tianjin will be solved.
This is the result of the irrigation project. The regular
silt clearing under the tide-proof sluice gate will keep
the water depth along the river course and help the development
of river transportation and Beitang Port.
