Approving Authorities Classification of the Invited Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government

1.Personages from countries that have no diplomatic relations with China.

2.Personages from political and religious circles, news media and other foreigners having special status. 3.Officials presently holding position at governor or deputy governor level of a province or minister or vice minister level of the central government of a foreign country.

Tianjin Municipal Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade

1.Foreigners conducting economic and trade activities.

2.Foreign administrative personnel and technicians in foreign funded enterprises, their spouses and their children not of age. A written application will be required in special cases.

3.Exports, technicians and others who need to stay longer in China for installation of equipment or need to visit China many a time due to heavy business work load: A. In case a multiple entry-exit visa valid for 180 days is applied for, a written application is required from the host organization for examination and approval by Tianjin Municipal Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade; B.In case a Municipal entry-exit visa valid for 365 days is applied for, a written application is required from the host organization to Tianjin Municipal Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade which will submit the application onward to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation for examination and approval.

4.Foreigners holding positions at governor level of a province or minister level of the central government of a foreign country coming to China neither in official position nor conducting official activities.

Overseas Chinese in foreign countries and compatriots in Hongkong, Macao and 　　Taiwan.

Special Formalities

• The host organization must have a real understanding about the coming visitor it has invited, i.e., its nationality, full name, sex, passport number, the organization in which he or she holds office, position, date of arrival in Tianjin, number of days he or she wishes to stay in China and the Place of visa formalities for the trip to China etc.

Completion of the "Registration Form for Visa Formalities for Inviting Foreigners to China" which serves as the application letter to be submitted by various organizations to Tianjin Municipal Commission of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. This form must be carefully filled out and then affixed with an official seal of the host organization or the organization in charge. The forms are available at the administrative offices of various districts, counties and bureaus locally.
